StoreHouse Guiness

reland is famous for a lot of things, Ireland Packages, Golf in Ireland, Dublin Holidays and of course Guinness.  There is nothing quite like a Guinness from Ireland, there is something special about it, the taste is different and unique then anywhere else in the world.  Ireland packages presents, Dublin the home of Guinness and the birth place of its inventor Mr Arthur Guinness.  Now Dublin is host to the Guinness storehouse, originally built in 1904 to store the Guinness fermenting process.  Now this wonderful building is the main attraction for anyone who visits Dublin be it for a weekend or longer.  Discover the history of this famous son of Ireland, how it is made, the marketing adverts through time and even get to learn the correct way to pour your very own Guinness.  The store house is set over 7 floors inside the original building used, as we have said, for the fermenting process.  From the moment you enter you are in for a treat the ground floor introduces you to the main ingredients used in making Guinness and to Mr Arthur Guinness, second floor plays host to the brewing process and a tasting laboratory, second floor is advertising long gone by, third floor is called the choice zone, fourth floor is the story and history of the building itself, the fifth floor allows you to get a certificate in the art of pouring you own Guinness along with the Source Bar and Brewery Bar where you can enjoy traditional Irish recipes that of course use the ingredient of Guinness, the sixth floor is the Mr Gilroy section, Mr Gilroy was the artist who produce the advertising campaigns for Guinness in the 1930s to the 1960s.  Finally you arrive at the seventh floor, high above Dublin city for you complementary pint of the good stuff, with the most stunning of views of Dublin this has to be one of the highlights of anyone’s trip.

The K Club

Posted in Golf in Ireland  by admin on October 9th, 2008

The K Club

The K Club has to be Golf in Ireland’s most renowned of golf clubs, with an impressive catalogue of matches to match, hosting some of golf’s finest tournaments.  The Ryder cup of 2006 was held hear where the Europeans retained the cup and it has played hosted to the impressive European open for the last 13 years.  The K Club is in County Kildare one of the most beautiful places in Ireland, and maybe this is why the course is so special having such great scenery to go along side it.  The course was designed by the famous Arnold Palmer team of experts and is, from the championship teas just over 7,100 yards, this is a difficult course and should not be taken lightly the course will throw up challenge after challenge, to all levels of golfers, requiring careful club selection at the right times.  All the par four’s, except for one run over 400 yards and the signature hole, the seventh par five is over 600 yards.  Water is on the course that adds to the beauty of the course but does hinder the golfer.  I struggled around this course but I wasn’t playing my best. This said I found the course to be stunning and so well kept, with greens being as true as can be.  The green fees are 150-300 Euros depending on what time of the year and on what day you choose, booking in advance is advisable to avoid any disappointment.  The club house if a welcome site and the after drink or meal is a delight, The K Club also offers a five star luxury hotel that has wonderful views over the course and country side.
